I have more than 10 years experience as a communications professional, starting as a newspaper reporter and editor and moving into marketing and public relations. I have spent much of my career specializing in education, and I also have a passion for supporting nonprofits.
In my day-to-day work, I am the editor and lead writer for a university magazine. I also develop marketing language, write web text, and compose speeches for leaders. And, on a really good day, I get to add in graphic design.
Outside of business hours, I work as a freelancer, offering communications consulting and services to individuals, businesses and nonprofits. I am passionate about ending hunger and food inequity, about letting children have a childhood, about social justice and equal rights — and I believe the written word, in any format, can change the world for the better.
I want to help you do just that. Public relations, community relations, marketing or communications — whatever we call the job, the work is the same: Identifying and telling compelling stories to the right people, in the right way, at the right time.
